Job Opportunity: RN Emergency Room (Travel)

Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Work schedule: Every Other Week (EOW), Every Other Holiday (EOH)
• Experience required:

  • Minimum 3 years of specialty experience plus previous travel experience, OR
  • More than 5 years of experience in a large Emergency Department (ED) with no travel experience
• EPIC electronic health record system experience required
• May need to float onsite within skill set or to other sites within 40 miles if needed

Required Certifications & Licenses

• BLS (American Heart Association)
• PALS (American Heart Association)
• ACLS (American Heart Association)
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
• NIH Certification (updated as required)
• Ascension Epic Test-Out (passing score required)
• Current RN License with Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start
• License/Certificate Verification within 30 days prior to start
• Driver's License/State ID (valid, must meet address requirements)

Health & Immunization Requirements

• MMR: Documented proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted)
• Hepatitis B: Vaccination series completion or signed declination
• Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31), exemptions accepted with mask requirement
• Varicella: Proof of immunity or two doses of vaccine (no declinations accepted)
• Tdap: Valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted)
• TB Screening: Positive IGRA or PPD results, negative chest X-ray within 1 year, and annual TB questionnaire
• Fit Test: Required annually (specific mask types for WI and MI)
• Ascension 12 Panel Drug Screen: Completed within 30 days prior to start and updated annually

Additional Requirements

• Ascension Color Vision test (updated every 3 years)
• Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA topics; minimum 80% score, updated yearly)
• Ascension MOAB (Management of Assaultive Behavior) certification
• Ascension Onboarding Requirements Education Attestation
• Ascension Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding (completed onsite)
• Ascension Nova StatStrip training
• Health Statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
• Ascension Skills Checklist (clinical skills, updated annually)
• Criminal Background Check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry (updated annually)
• Employment Verification and Education Verification (within 90 days prior to start)
• Ascension Confirmation of Assignment documentation
• Ascension EPLS (Excluded Parties List System) check (updated as required)
• Ascension Badge Photo (professional headshot with white or blue background)

Experience Requirements Summary

• Specialty Experience: Minimum 5 years in Emergency Room nursing if no prior travel experience, or minimum 3 years with prior travel experience
• Prior Travel Experience: Required if only 3 years specialty experience

Additional Notes

• Must be able to float to other sites within 40 miles if needed
• All certifications and verifications must be current and compliant with Ascension Health standards

This position is ideal for experienced Emergency Room RNs who meet the certification and health requirements and are comfortable with travel assignments and floating within a regional network.
