Job Description

• Position available at a medical/surgical unit.
• Assignment at a hospital campus in Wichita, Kansas.

Required Credentials & Onboarding Requirements

Licenses & Verification

• Current nursing license with primary source verification within 30 days prior to assignment start.
• Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start.
• Driver’s License or State ID (must be current and match address on file).

Certifications

• BLS (American Heart Association required).
• NIH Certification (Group A updated yearly; Groups B-F every 2 years).
• MOAB Moderate Risk De-Escalation Training.

Health & Immunizations

• MMR: Proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted).
• Varicella: Proof of two vaccines, immunity, or history verified by healthcare provider (no declinations accepted).
• Tdap: Valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted).
• Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); exemptions accepted with mask requirement.
• Hepatitis B: Documentation of vaccination series completion or signed declination.
• Fit Test: Required for all travelers; preferred before start, can be completed onsite.
• 2 Step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot): Required with specific timing before start; annual TB questionnaire.
• Positive PPD requires negative chest X-ray within 1 year and TB questionnaire.
• Health Statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually.
• 12 Panel Drug Screen within 30 days prior to start, updated annually.

Professional & Onboarding Requirements

• Resume/Profile submission required.
• At least two professional references required.
• Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, Employment Verification, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry, and others within 30 days of assignment start; updated annually or after breaks in service.
• EPLS check within 90 days of start; rerun if break in service > 90 days.
• Education verification relevant to clinical work within 90 days of start; rerun if break in service > 90 days.
• Employment verification for past 7 years; updated annually or after breaks in service.
• Completion of Ascension-specific onboarding modules and attestations including:

  • Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA topics) with minimum 80% score.
  • EKG Exam with passing score of 80%.
  • Cerner Test-Out with signed attestation.
  • Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding (onsite).
  • Nova StatStrip pre-hire modules.
  • Education Attestation (6 hours pre-hire).
  • Badge photo (forward-facing, white or blue background, no filters).
  • Skills Checklist for clinical specialty, updated annually.
• Confirmation of assignment documentation required at start and upon extension.

Optional Documents

• Unit Specific Checklist (uploaded by unit leader within a week).
• Positive PPD documentation (if applicable).
• Hiring Manager Evaluation (post-assignment).
• Legal name change documentation.
