    Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

    Location: Sacramento, California
    Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 13 weeks)
    Specialty: Registered Nurse - Interventional Radiology (IR) / Cath Lab

    Job Description

    • Work schedule: 4/10 hour shifts, 7:30 AM - 6:00 PM
    • Varied days off, rotating weekends, and varied call nights/weekends
    • Operate complex stationary and mobile diagnostic equipment
    • Assist physicians during invasive diagnostic and/or guidance imaging procedures
    • Educate patients on procedures, medications, contrast media, and biological effects to alleviate fear and anxiety
    • Call and weekend duties required

    Requirements

    • California Registered Nurse (CA RN) license
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications (AHA or ARC only)
    • At least 5 years of recent relevant nursing experience (higher end of 3-5 years stated)
    • Prior Interventional Radiology/Cath Lab experience preferred
    • Varied call nights and rotating weekends required

    Certifications & Competencies

    • Mandatory Certifications:
      • BLS (Basic Life Support)
      • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
    • Other certifications may be required depending on position specifics (verify with recruiter):
      • PALS, NRP, CCRN, TNCC, EFM, CPI, NIH Stroke Certification, etc.
    • Competency exams as applicable (Medication Test/Pharmacology, Dysrhythmia/EKG, etc.)

    Background & Compliance

    • 7-year background check required within 6 months of start
    • Sex Offender Search within 90 days of start
    • FACIS Level 3 screening required within 2 weeks of start and monthly thereafter
    • Education verification required (Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred)
    • Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids due to CA law)
    • Physical exam within 1 year of start
    • Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually (with accommodations for religious exemptions)
    • Immunizations and health screenings required:
      • TB test (annual renewal)
      • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
      • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination
      • Hepatitis B vaccination or declination
      • Varicella immunity or vaccination
      • Seasonal flu vaccination during flu season (11/1 - 4/30) or signed declination
    • Respiratory safety clearance required prior to start and annually

    Documentation & Orientation

    • Must review and sign facility-specific documents including:
      • Job description
      • Standards of Business Conduct
      • Code of Conduct
      • Vendor Training
      • Overpayment Refund Policy
      • Regulatory Orientation for Contracted Workers
    • TB Questionnaire required within 90 days of start and annually
    • Employment application must include full 7 years of work history with no gaps
    • References: 2 professional references required within 3 years for clinical positions

    Additional Notes

    • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
    • Call and weekend work is part of the schedule
    • IR RN experience is preferred but not strictly required if candidate has strong relevant experience
    • Contract may be extended beyond initial 13 weeks
