Description
Job Opportunity: RN - Telemetry (Travel)
Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks (3 months)
Shift: Nights (3 shifts of 12 hours, 7pm - 7am)
Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36 (option for 48 hours per week upon request)
Weekend Requirements: Every other full weekend (Saturday and Sunday) required unless otherwise approved
Holiday Requirements: Expected to work at least one major winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year’s Day)
Time Off: Up to 5 days off per 13-week contract automatically approved; additional time off requires leader approval and may need to be made up
Specialty & Experience Requirements
- Specialty: Medical-Surgical & Telemetry Short Stay
- Required Experience: Minimum 2+ years of telemetry nursing experience (higher value between 1+ and 2+ years applied)
- Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required
Certifications Required
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
Unit & Patient Information
- Unit: Med Surg / Telemetry (Floor 7E)
- Patient Population: Adults only, approximately 50% medical and 50% telemetry patients
- Patient Ratios: Typically 4-6 patients per nurse
- Equipment: Standard telemetry nursing equipment
- EMR System: EPIC
Job Responsibilities
- Perform direct patient care activities including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for all adult age groups
- Coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient care and comfort
- Function within the scope of nursing practice consistent with Missouri Nurse Practice Act and facility standards
- Float to other units as needed/customary
Work Environment & Culture
- Team-oriented with a focus on positive patient outcomes
- Strong communication skills required
- Dress code: Black scrubs required
Additional Notes
- Flu vaccination required for all travelers from November 1 to April 1; exemptions must be client approved
- Manager interviews all candidates within 24 hours of offer; final approval subject to manager
