Job Opportunity: RN - Medical/Surgical/Telemetry (Days)
Location: West Burlington, Iowa
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Provide nursing care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation.
- Collaborate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Care for patient populations including Geriatric, Medical/Surgical, Adult, and Telemetry.
- Positions available on Medical Surgical Unit and Telemetry Unit.
- Estimated work week: 36 hours with possible overtime.
- ACLS certification required.
- Upon acceptance, self-study of telemetry strips is required. A basic dysrhythmia test will be administered during the first week and must be passed to work on the Telemetry/Med Surg unit.

- Specialty: RN Medical/Surgical/Telemetry

Required Credentials & Certifications
- Licenses:
- Active RN license verified through primary source (BON & NURSYS for RNs).
- Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification (AHA or Apex Innovations only)
- Health & Immunizations:
- COVID-19 Vaccine (declination accepted)
- MMR (2 vaccines or positive titer; 1 booster or declination accepted if low/equivocal)
- Hepatitis B (2 vaccines or positive titer; 1 booster or declination accepted if low/equivocal)
- Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer; 1 booster or declination accepted if low/equivocal)
- Tdap (valid for 10 years; declination accepted)
- Influenza Vaccine (required annually by 12/01; vaccine or facility declination accepted)
- TB Test (negative test within past year; if history of positive, additional documentation required)
- Other Requirements:
- Fit Test for approved respirators (completed prior to start)
- Health Statement (physician statement within last 12 months)
- Drug Screen (10 panel within 30 days of start)
- Background Check including SS Trace, County, Nationwide, Sex Offender (within 30 days of start)
- Adult and Child Abuse clearance (state requirement)
- Education Verification (third-party verification of highest education level)
- Professional References (2 required, 1 must be from supervisor)
- Skills Checklist (completed within last 12 months)
- I-9 Attestation (completed on agency letterhead)
- OSHA Questionnaire (candidate completes)
- Various internal verifications and attestations required within 30 days of start
Additional Notes
- Prior travel experience is not required for this position.
- Telemetry competency must be demonstrated by passing a dysrhythmia test during the first week.
- The role requires flexibility for possible overtime beyond the estimated 36-hour work week.
This position is suitable for experienced RNs with MedSurg and Telemetry skills who hold current certifications and meet the health and credentialing requirements listed above.
