Location: Elmira, New York

Job Description

  • Med/surg telemetry nurse role

Required Specialty Experience

  • Registered Nurse with telemetry experience
  • Required years of experience: Not explicitly stated; assume minimum 1+ year typical for RN Telemetry I roles

Certifications & Licenses Required

  • BLS (AHA only) – Required for onboarding
  • ACLS (AHA only) – Required for onboarding
  • State Nursing License Verification – Must be completed within 30 days prior to start
  • Driver’s License or State ID – Valid and current US ID required

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • COVID-19 Vaccine: Optional; proof of vaccine or agency declination accepted
  • MMR: Positive IgG titer or 2 vaccine series required; must provide documentation
  • Varicella: Positive IgG titer or 2 vaccine series required; documentation required
  • Hepatitis B: Positive antibody titer, 3 vaccine series, or facility-specific declination form required
  • Influenza Vaccine: Required annually or facility-specific declination form (mask required if declined)
  • Tdap: Preferred but not required; if no record, declination form needed
  • TB Test: Annual requirement; acceptable tests include 2 skin PPDs (one within 12 months, one within 3 months), or 1 Quantiferon/Spot test within 12 months; follow-up may be required for past positives including chest x-ray
  • Physical/Health Statement: Must be within last 12 months, including vitals and vision screening, with no restrictions

Testing & Competency

  • Arnot Core Competency Exam: Must score 80% or higher on Core Comp I, II, and III for RNs
  • Fit Test: Annual requirement; must be completed prior to start with approved mask models
  • Agency Drug Screen: 9+ panel drug screen within 30 days of start
  • Background Check: Must be run within 30 days of start, including SSN trace, county and national criminal checks, FACIS 3 check

Documentation & Professional Requirements

  • Resume: Complete employment and education history for last 7 years required
  • Professional References: 2 references required (1 supervisor within last 12 months, 1 supervisor or peer within last 3 years)
  • Employment Verification: Verification of most recent employer required
  • Skills Checklist: Must be completed for the unit assigned and updated annually
  • Job Description: Signed and dated acknowledgment required
  • Color Headshot: Recent photo required
  • Various Facility-Specific Forms: Including code of conduct, sexual harassment acknowledgement, parking registration, confirmation of assignment, self-study packet and quiz
