Job Opportunity: RN Inpatient Psych - Behavioral Health

Location: Elmira, New York

Job Details

  • Schedule: Five 8-hour shifts, typically 1500-2330
  • Holidays and every other weekend required
  • Weekend off requests require coverage or prior approval
  • Possible floating to similar units (e.g., Inpatient Addiction Rehab Unit)
  • Training provided for charge nurse responsibilities
  • Uniform: Navy blue scrubs

Experience Requirements

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse in Psychiatric care

Required Credentials & Certifications

  • State RN License: Verification required within 30 days prior to start
  • BLS Certification: American Heart Association (AHA) only
  • Naloxone Train the Trainer Course: Completion certificate required

  • Core Competency Exam: Must score 80% or higher on Core Comp I, II, and III for RNs
  • Driver’s License or State ID: Valid, unexpired US ID required
  • Professional References: Two required (one supervisor from last 12 months, one supervisor or peer from last 3 years)
  • Resume: Must include all employment and gaps for last 7 years, education history with degree and graduation date, all dates in MM/YY format
  • Employment Verification: Verification of most recent employer required
  • Job Description: Signed and dated copy required
  • Background Check: Must be run within 30 days of start, including SSN address trace, county and national criminal checks, FACIS 3 check
  • Drug Screen: 9+ panel drug screen within 30 days of start

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • COVID-19 Vaccine: Optional; proof or declination accepted
  • MMR: Positive IgG titer or 2 vaccine series required; must show results for each component
  • Varicella: Positive IgG titer or 2 vaccine series required; documentation required
  • Hepatitis B: Positive antibody titer, 3 vaccine series, or specific declination form required
  • Influenza Vaccine: Required or specific declination form; mask required if declined
  • TB Test: Annual requirement; acceptable tests include 2 PPDs (one within 12 months, one within 3 months) or 1 Quant/Spot within 12 months; follow-up may be required for past positives
  • Fit Test: Annual requirement within last 12 months; specific approved mask models; on-site fit testing available if needed
  • Tdap: Preferred but not required; if no record, declination form required
  • Physical/Health Statement: Must be within last 12 months; include physician credentials, vitals, Snellen eye chart, and statement of no restrictions

  • Various Arnot Health Forms: Including Code of Conduct, Personal Information, Sexual Harassment Acknowledgement, Parking Registration, Confirmation of Assignment, Self Study Packet and Quiz, and others as specified in the document library
  • 7 Instant Background Checks: Must be manually run and uploaded together (specific checks required by state and federal agencies)
  • TB Questionnaire Form: Annual requirement
  • Agency Drug Tobacco Acknowledgement: Required
