Job Opportunity: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics (CRT)
Location: Lansing, Michigan
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Overview
- Role: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) specializing in Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics
- Patient Population: Pediatric and Adult critical care experience required
- Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, night shift
- Start Date: ASAP
- Weekend Requirement: Every 3rd weekend
- On-call: Not required
- Floating: No floating outside scope of practice
Experience Requirements
- Minimum Specialty Experience: 2 years (highest required)
- Prior Travel Experience: Not required
- First-time travelers: Not accepted
Certifications Required
- State Respiratory Therapist License (Michigan)
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) by American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Certified Respiratory Therapist Technician (CRTT)
Clinical Skills & Experience
- Work Setting Experience: Emergency Room (ER), Adult Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
- Respiratory Care Skills:
- Airway Management
- Medication Administration
- Ventilator Management
- Oxygen Therapy
- Suctioning
- Pulmonary Toileting
- Nebulizer Treatments
- BiPAP and CPAP
- Polysomnography/Sleep Studies: Oxygen Saturation monitoring
- Equipment Experience: Servo I ventilators, Hamilton G5 ventilators
Work Schedule & Hours
- Guaranteed Hours:
- 36 hours for 3 shifts (3 x 12-hour shifts)
- 48 hours for 4 shifts (4 x 12-hour shifts)
- 40 hours for shifts under 12 hours (8 or 10-hour shifts)
Facility Highlights
- Type: Short Term Acute Care
- Designations: Magnet recognized, Teaching hospital, Level 1 Trauma center
- Total Staffed Beds: 632
- Charting System: Epic (experience required)

Additional Requirements
- Background Checks: Must be current within 30 days of assignment start
- Drug Testing: 10-panel drug screen including THC, within 30 days of start
- Health Documents:
- Physical exam within 12 months (must note latex sensitivity)
- Fit mask OSHA respirator form completed 1 week prior to start
- Immunizations: Tdap (within 10 years), MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Flu vaccination (seasonal) or declination accepted
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- References: 2 previous employer references required
- Resume: Must include 7-year work history
- Competency Exams: Medication/pharmacology and unit-specific competency exams required
- Facility-specific orientation modules required (some completed onsite)

- Locals accepted; no local radius restrictions
- Pending licenses not accepted
- Block scheduling not accommodated
- Respiratory therapists must maintain all required certifications and licenses current throughout assignment
