    Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (CVPICU)

    Location: Long Beach, California
    Employment Type: Travel/Contract
    Contract Length: 13 weeks


    Job Details

    • Specialty: Registered Nurse (CTICU)
    • Shift: 3x12 hour shifts, PM shift (1900-0730)
    • Experience Required: Minimum 2 years in CTICU (higher value confirmed)
    • First-time Travelers: Accepted if experienced in CTICU
    • Floating Requirements: Must float to PICU and NICU
    • On-call: Not required
    • Weekend Requirement: 4 shifts per 4-week schedule
    • Documentation System: EPIC

    Certifications Required

    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA Provider, Instructor, or RQI acceptable
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) - as applicable
    • NIH Stroke Certification (required for ICU and ER)
    • State License verification and NURSYS verification required
    • Medication Calculation Test and EKG competency exams required
    • Competency exams and color blindness testing required

    Required Documentation & Compliance

    • Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID)
    • Emergency Contact Form
    • Background checks including 7-year history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG
    • Physical exam within 1 year
    • Fit mask test within 1 year, renewed annually
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
    • Immunizations/vaccinations: TDAP (within 10 years), Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B titer, Varicella
    • Drug testing: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 1 year (excluding marijuana panel)
    • Flu vaccine required during flu season (Nov-April), declination accepted
    • COVID vaccination record preferred
    • Skills checklist and internal evaluation (annual)
    • References: 2 professional references required
    • Employment application required

    Facility-Specific Requirements

    • Completion of EPIC Education Modules prior to or at start of assignment (approx. 8 hours)
    • Completion of YouLearn Modules assigned by facility
    • HIPAA Education Module completion required before EPIC modules
    • Review of facility policies including Hand Hygiene, Dress and Appearance, Drug and Alcohol Free Policy

    Additional Notes

    • Candidates within 50 miles may be eligible for local rate consideration
    • Floating to PICU and NICU required
    • Weekend shifts required as part of schedule

    This position is ideal for experienced CTICU nurses comfortable with pediatric and neonatal critical care, EPIC documentation, and flexible floating assignments.
