Description
Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Emergency Department (RN Emergency Room)
Location: Elmira, New York
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Experienced evening shift nurse needed (shift hours: 11:00 AM - 11:30 PM)
- Work in a 48-treatment space Emergency Department
- Patient ratio approximately 1:5
Required Qualifications
License
- Valid New York State RN license (State License Verification required within 30 days prior to start)
Certifications (must be current and from American Heart Association)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
Additional Required Training and Certifications
- 8 hours of Stroke Training (including NHISS component)
- Fit Test (within last 12 months, specific approved mask models)
- TB Test (annual requirement; specific testing protocols apply)
- COVID-19 Vaccine (optional, but proof or declination required)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) immunity verification or vaccination
- Varicella immunity verification or vaccination
- Hepatitis B immunity or vaccination series or specific declination form
- Influenza Vaccine or declination form (mask required if declined)
- Tdap vaccine preferred (within last 10 years) or declination form
- Physical/Health Statement (within last 12 months, including vitals and vision test)
Professional Requirements
- Completion of Arnot Skills Checklist for the assigned unit (updated annually)
- Passing score (80% or higher) on Arnot Core Competency Exam (Nursing Core Comp I, II, III)
- Valid US Driver’s License or State ID (not expired)
- Background Check (within 30 days of start, including multiple county and national checks)
- Drug Screen (9+ panel, within 30 days of start)
- Submission of a detailed resume covering last 7 years of employment and education
- Two professional references (one supervisor from last 12 months, one supervisor or peer from last 3 years)
- Signed job description and employment verification of most recent employer
- Completion of various Arnot Health forms and acknowledgments (Code of Conduct, Sexual Harassment Acknowledgement, etc.)
