Job Opportunity: RN - Medical/Surgical/Telemetry

Location: West Burlington, Iowa
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 12 weeks


Job Description

  • Provide nursing care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Collaborate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Care for patient populations including Geriatric, Medical/Surgical, Adult, and Telemetry.
  • Positions available on Medical Surgical Unit and Telemetry Unit.
  • Must self-study telemetry strips upon acceptance; a basic dysrhythmia test will be administered during the first week and must be passed to work on the Telemetry/Med Surg unit.
  • Estimated work week: 36 hours with possible overtime.
  • ACLS certification required.

Required Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Iowa.
  • ACLS certification.
  • BLS certification (AHA or ARC acceptable).
  • Prior experience in Medical/Surgical and Telemetry nursing (years of experience not explicitly stated; assume standard RN experience in specialty).
  • Ability to pass a basic dysrhythmia test during the first week of assignment.

Required Credentials and Compliance

  • COVID-19 Vaccine (declination accepted).
  • MMR: 2 vaccines or positive titer; if low or equivocal, 1 booster or declination accepted.
  • Hepatitis B: 2 vaccines or positive titer; if low or equivocal, 1 booster or declination accepted.
  • Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer; if low or equivocal, 1 booster or declination accepted.
  • Tdap: Valid for 10 years from administered date; declinations accepted.
  • Influenza Vaccine (seasonal requirement, vaccine or facility declination accepted).
  • TB Test: Negative test within past year or documentation if history of positive test.
  • Fit Test for approved respirators completed prior to start.
  • Health Statement (physician statement within last 12 months).
  • Drug Screen: 10 panel within 30 days of start (THC not required).
  • Background Check including Adult and Child Abuse registry, EPLS/GSA/SAM HHS/OIG, NSO, OFAC, and others within 30 days of start.
  • Professional References: 2 required, including 1 supervisor reference.
  • Skills Checklist completed within 12 months.
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification (American Heart Association or Apex Innovations only).
  • License/Certificate Verification (primary source verification within 30 days of start).
  • Driver’s License or State ID (unexpired).
  • GRH Evergreen Link attestation within 48 hours of offer acceptance.
  • Pre-Orientation Computer-Based Learning (CBL) Acknowledgement.
  • GRH OSHA Questionnaire.
  • GRH Color Vision test.
  • GRH Contract Employee Data Sheet.
  • GRH I9 Attestation.
