Job Opportunity: RN - Medical/Surgical/Telemetry (Nights)
Location: West Burlington, Iowa
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Job Description
- Provide nursing care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation.
- Collaborate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Deliver high-quality care to Geriatric, Medical/Surgical, Adult, and Telemetry patient populations.
- Positions available on Medical Surgical Unit and Telemetry Unit.
- Estimated work week: 36 hours with possible overtime.
- Traveler must self-study telemetry strips upon acceptance.
- A basic dysrhythmia test will be administered during the first week; passing is required to work on the Telemetry/Med Surg unit.
- ACLS certification is required.
Required Qualifications
- License: Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Iowa.
- Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification (American Heart Association or Apex Innovations only)
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in Medical/Surgical and Telemetry nursing (based on specialty and job requirements).
- Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required.

- MMR (2 vaccines or positive titer; booster or declination accepted if low/equivocal)
- Hepatitis B (2 vaccines or positive titer; booster or declination accepted if low/equivocal)
- Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer; booster or declination accepted if low/equivocal)
- Tdap (valid for 10 years; declinations accepted)
- Influenza Vaccine (seasonal requirement; vaccine or facility declination accepted)
- TB Test (negative test within past year or documentation if history of positive test)
- Fit Test for approved masks/respirators
- Health Statement (physician statement within last 12 months)
- Drug Screen (10 panel, excludes THC)
- Background Check including Adult and Child Abuse registry checks
- Education Verification (highest level applicable to RN role)
- Professional References (2 required, including 1 supervisor)
- License/Certificate Verification (primary source verification within 30 days of start)
- Skills Checklist (completed within 12 months)
- Other professional and personal health history attestations and documentation as required
Additional Notes
- Must pass a dysrhythmia test during the first week to continue working on the Telemetry/Med Surg unit.
- Self-study of telemetry strips is required prior to assignment start.
- Work schedule primarily nights.
