Job Opportunity: ER Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Crescent City, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking an experienced ER Registered Nurse for a travel/contract position.
Required Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience as an ER Registered Nurse (per manager requirement)
Required Certifications
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or ARC only
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC only
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA or ARC only
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - valid for 4 years
- Other certifications may be required depending on position specifics (e.g., NRP, CCRN, EFM) - verify as applicable
License Requirements
- Valid California RN license
- Primary source online verification required within 30 days of start
- NURSYS verification required within 30 days of start
Schedule
- Every other weekend
Background and Screening Requirements
- 7-year background check required within 6 months of start, including:
- SSN Trace with all aliases
- County searches for last 7 years of locations lived/worked/schooled
- Nationwide Sex Offender Search
- Education verification (highest level achieved)
- FACIS Level 3 search within 2 weeks of start and monthly thereafter
- EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, OFAC Sanctions List, Medi-Cal Suspended and Ineligible Provider List as applicable
- Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids due to CA law)
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Fit test within 1 year of start, renewed annually
- TB screening: Negative QGold or TSPOT within 90 days of start or 2 PPDs as specified, renewed annually
- Immunizations:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination as required
- Hepatitis B series or declination
- Varicella immunity or vaccination as required
- Seasonal flu vaccination during flu season (11/1-4/30) or signed declination
- Respiratory safety clearance required prior to start and renewed annually
Additional Requirements
- Full 7 years of work history documented with no gaps in employment
- Unit-specific skills checklist required, renewed annually
- References: 2 professional references within 3 years (Aya requirement)
- Candidate must review and sign facility-specific documents including job description, standards of business conduct, code of conduct, vendor training, and regulatory orientation prior to start
- TB questionnaire completed and signed by healthcare provider within 90 days of start

- No explicit prior travel experience required
Summary
This is a travel contract ER RN position in California requiring 5 years of ER nursing experience, multiple certifications (ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC), and comprehensive background and health screenings.
