Travel/Contract Cath Lab RN - California (Torrance)
Position Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (Cath Lab RN)
- Location: Torrance, California
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
- Start Date: February 2026
- Call Requirements: 1-2 nights per week and 1 weekend every 4-6 weeks
- First-time Travelers: Accepted
Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab experience
- Minimum 1+ year of ICU, ER, or PACU experience
- Prior travel experience: Not required
Required Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- Two clinical references required (one must be from leadership within the last year)
- CA RN License (California Registered Nurse License)
- Flu vaccination required (no exemptions allowed)
Skills & Preferences
- Experience with recovery of cardiac caths, PCIs, PFO, CTOs, and EP procedures including pacemakers, BiV, AICD, Cryo
- Cerner experience preferred
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Background check within one year of start, including SS Trace, County searches (last 7 years), Nationwide, Sex Offender checks
- Education verification or diploma/transcript required
- Drug testing within one year of start and updated annually (excluding Marijuana/THC panel starting 1/1/24)
- Fit mask test within one year of start (specific mask types required)
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- Tdap vaccine or declination
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (with annual TB questionnaire if history of positive TB)
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella immunity or vaccination/declination
- Hepatitis B immunity or vaccination series or declination
- Varicella immunity or vaccination/declination
- COVID vaccine or declination form required
- Flu seasonal vaccination/documentation required for 2025-2026 season (no exemptions accepted for registry/per diem)
Additional Requirements
- Two supervisor/manager references within one year of start (one can be from Charge RN)
- Current resume or application covering all cities and states lived/worked in past 7 years with explanations for gaps over 30 days
- Various facility-specific documents and acknowledgments must be reviewed and signed prior to start (e.g., safety, orientation, confidentiality, attendance, meal break, fingernail hygiene, standards of behavior, conflict of interest, timekeeping, float policy for ICU/Med Surg/NICU)
- Harassment prevention training certificate required
- Medication and specialty competency exams required (proof of specialty test with minimum 80% score, dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for Cath Lab RNs)
This position requires a highly skilled Cath Lab RN with solid critical care experience, strong procedural skills, and compliance with strict health and facility policies. Flu vaccination is mandatory with no exemptions, and candidates must hold a valid California RN license.
