Description
Job Opportunity: RN Medical/Surgical - Float
Location: Wichita, Kansas
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours: 48 hours per week
Start Date: Must start by January 7, 2026
Required Qualifications
- License: Current RN license in good standing for Kansas (Nursys verification required within 30 days prior to start)
- Certifications:
- BLS (American Heart Association)
- NIH Certification (updated yearly or every 2 years depending on group)
- MOAB Moderate Risk De-Escalation Training
- Competency Testing:
- Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA, etc.; minimum 80% passing score)
- Ascension EKG Exam (passing score of at least 80%)
- Ascension Cerner Test-Out
- Ascension Skills Checklist (clinical, updated annually)
- Health Requirements:
- MMR: Proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted)
- Varicella: Proof of immunity or two vaccines (no declinations accepted)
- Tdap: Valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted)
- Influenza Vaccine: Required for flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); exemptions accepted with mask requirement
- Hepatitis B: Documentation of vaccination series or signed declination
- TB Screening: Positive IGRA or PPD results, negative chest X-ray within 1 year, and annual TB questionnaire
- Fit Test: Annual respiratory fit test required (specific mask types required)
- 12 Panel Drug Screen: Must include all 12 drugs tested with MRO review if applicable
- Health Statement: Statement of good health or physical exam prior to assignment, updated annually
- Background Checks and Verifications:
- Criminal Background Check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry, and others (updated annually or if break in service > 90 days)
- Employment Verification (past 7 years, updated annually or if break in service > 90 days)
- Education Verification (within 90 days of start, updated if break in service > 90 days)
- Professional References: At least two qualifying references prior to first assignment
- Other Requirements:
- Driver’s License/State ID (must be current and valid)
- Ascension Resume/Profile submission required
- Signed Assignment Agreement and other onboarding documentation as required
