Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN Step Down)

Location: Elmira, New York
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Work in a Step Down unit with patient ratios:
    • Step Down: 3:1
    • Day Shift: 5:1
    • Night Shift: 7:1
  • Team nursing model with ratios:
    • Day Shift: 8:2
    • Night Shift: 10:2
  • Responsibilities include:
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
    • Pushing, pulling, lifting
    • Medication administration
    • Patient assessments and care plans
    • Effective communication and teamwork

Required Qualifications

Licensure

  • Valid New York State RN license (State License Verification required)

Certifications (must be current and valid)

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only
  • 8 Hours of Stroke Training (including NIHSS)
  • Fit Test (within last 12 months)
  • Agency Drug Screen (9+ panel, within 30 days of start)
  • Agency Background Check (within 30 days of start)

Health and Immunizations

  • COVID-19 Vaccine (proof or agency declination)
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) - positive titer or 2 vaccine series
  • Hepatitis B - positive antibody titer, 3 vaccine series, or declination form
  • Influenza Vaccine or declination form (mask required if declined)
  • TB Test (annual requirement with specific testing protocols)
  • Varicella - positive titer or 2 vaccine series
  • Tdap (preferred, not required; declination form if no record)
  • Physical/Health Statement (within last 12 months)

Professional Requirements
