    Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

    Location: Orange, California
    Contract Length: 13 weeks


    Position Summary

    Seeking a Registered Nurse with experience in various clinical skills and certifications. This is a travel/contract position in a hospital setting.


    Required Qualifications

    • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (highest requirement from description)
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
    • Experience with antihypertensives, IV infusion pumps, and PICC line care and maintenance
    • Infection prevention knowledge
    • NHSN knowledge and ability to recognize communicable disease symptoms and appropriate transmission
    • Accepting first-time travelers (no prior travel experience required)

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience in Nuclear Medicine
    • Charge nurse experience

    Certifications & Competencies

    • BLS and ACLS certifications are mandatory
    • Continuing Education Units (CEUs) within the last 24 months required (minimum 1 contact hour, excluding BLS)
    • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required
    • Unit-specific competency exams (e.g., Dysrhythmia/EKG for Telemetry nurses)
    • NIH Stroke Certification required prior to start (except certain specialties)
    • Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Blue Card required for ER and Behavioral Health nurses
    • Pass/Fail testing on medication calculation and arrhythmia recognition (EKG) required for certain units
    • Signed HIPAA and safety manual acknowledgments

    Health & Compliance Requirements

    • Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually
    • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 1 year, updated annually (no instant tests)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
    • Required immunizations or proof of immunity:
      • Rubeola (Measles)
      • Mumps
      • Rubella
      • Varicella
      • Hepatitis B series or declination
      • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap or Pertussis titer if unable to receive vaccine
    • Hepatitis C titer strongly preferred; declination accepted with reason
    • Seasonal flu vaccination required by December 5 (declinations accepted with masking requirements)
    • COVID-19 vaccination documentation for current season or facility-specific declination with masking requirements
    • Mask fit testing (N95) within 1 year, renewed annually; PAPR documentation accepted if fit test failed

    Documentation & Onboarding

    • Two professional references within 1 year from leadership roles required
    • Verification of employment for the past 3 years required
    • Signed facility-specific job description and orientation acknowledgments
    • Completion of infection control and bloodborne pathogens exam with a passing score of 80% or higher
    • Various facility-specific documents and acknowledgments related to workplace violence prevention, confidentiality, and safety policies

    Additional Notes

    • Scrub color requirements: Navy Blue for RNs/LVNs
    • Orientation modules completed onsite or remotely as directed
    • Some competencies and trainings completed onsite after start date
    • No prior travel experience required; first-time travelers accepted

    This position is ideal for a Registered Nurse with solid clinical experience, required certifications, and readiness to work in a travel/contract role in California.
