Job Opportunity: RN ICU - Travel Position

Location: Franklin, Wisconsin
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Work in an Acuity Adaptable Unit (not a pure ICU)
  • Schedule: Every Other Weekend (EOW), Every Other Holiday (EOH)
  • Required experience: Minimum 2 years nursing experience with ICU experience
  • Additional preferred skills:
    • CRRT (Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy) experience
    • Balloon pump and Swan-Ganz catheter experience a plus
    • Competency in Sheath Pulls
    • EPIC electronic health record system proficiency
  • May need to float onsite within skill set or to nearby sites within 40 miles

Required Qualifications

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years nursing experience, including ICU experience

Licenses & Certifications

  • Current RN license in Wisconsin (or compact license valid for Wisconsin)
  • BLS (American Heart Association)
  • ACLS (American Heart Association)

Immunizations & Health Requirements

  • Documented proof of two MMR vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted)
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series completion or signed declination
  • Influenza vaccine (seasonal; exemptions accepted with mask requirement)
  • Documented proof of two Varicella vaccines, serological immunity, or history verified by healthcare provider (no declinations accepted)
  • Tdap vaccine (valid for 10 years; no declinations accepted)
  • TB screening: Positive IGRA or PPD results, negative chest X-ray within one year, and annual TB questionnaire
  • Fit test for N95 respirators (3M 1860 Regular, 3M 1860 Small, or 3M 1870+) required prior to start or onsite (not PAPR)

Background & Screening

  • Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry, and others within 30 days of assignment
  • Employment verification for the past 7 years
  • Drug screening: 12-panel urine drug screen within 30 days prior to start, updated annually
  • Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start
  • License and certificate primary source verification within 30 days prior to start
  • Driver’s license or state ID (must be current and valid)

Competency & Testing

  • Ascension Specialty Exam (minimum 80% passing score, updated every 3 years)
  • Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA, etc., minimum 80% passing score, updated every 3 years)
  • Ascension EKG Exam (minimum 80% passing score, updated every 3 years)
  • Ascension Color Vision test (updated every 3 years)
  • Ascension Epic Test-Out (EPIC training and test results required)
  • Ascension Skills Checklist (clinical competency checklist, updated annually)

Other Requirements

  • Statement of good health or completed physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
  • Professional references: at least two prior to first assignment
  • Resume/profile submission required
  • Badge photo (white or blue background, no alterations)
  • Completion of onboarding education and attestation modules prior to clearance

Additional Notes

  • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
  • Floating to other units or nearby sites may be required based on skill set.

This position is ideal for experienced ICU RNs with strong critical care skills and proficiency in EPIC, seeking a travel assignment in Wisconsin.
