Job Opportunity: RN Emergency Room (Travel)

Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Work schedule: Every Other Week (EOW), Every Other Holiday (EOH)
• Minimum 3 years of specialty experience plus previous travel experience, OR more than 5 years in a large Emergency Department without travel experience
• Experience with EPIC electronic health record system required
• May need to float onsite within skill set or to other sites within 40 miles as needed

Required Qualifications

Experience

• Specialty: Emergency Room Nursing
• Years of Experience: Minimum 3 years with prior travel experience OR 5+ years without prior travel experience
• Prior Travel Experience: Required if less than 5 years ED experience (3 years + previous travel experience explicitly stated)

Licenses & Certifications

• Current, valid RN license for Wisconsin
• Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start
• BLS (AHA)
• ACLS (AHA)
• PALS (AHA)
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course), renewed every 4 years
• NIH Certification, updated per schedule
• MOAB or CPI (Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training), 8-hour course, updated every 2 years

Vaccinations & Health Requirements

• Documented proof of two MMR vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted)
• Hepatitis B vaccination series completion or signed declination
• Influenza vaccine for flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31), exemptions accepted with mask requirement
• Documented proof of two Varicella vaccines or immunity (no declinations accepted)
• Tdap vaccine, valid for 10 years (no declinations accepted)
• TB screening: Positive IGRA or PPD results, negative chest X-ray within 1 year, and annual TB questionnaire
• Fit Test for respiratory protection (3M 1860 Regular, 3M 1860 Small, or 3M 1870+), updated annually

Other Requirements

• Health statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
• 2-step PPD or IGRA within required timeframes prior to start
• 12-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start, including MRO review if applicable
• Verification of education and employment history
• Professional references (at least two) prior to first assignment
• Criminal background check, EPLS, and other compliance screenings as required
• Skills checklist and specialty exam demonstrating competency in Emergency Nursing
• Epic test-out and training checklist with signed attestation

Additional Notes

• Must be able to provide a valid driver's license/state ID matching home state for compact license purposes
• May be required to float to other sites within 40 miles
• Onboarding includes completion of specific Ascension Health education and compliance modules
