Job Opportunity: RN - Emergency Room (Travel)
Location: Nantucket, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Weekly Hours: 36 hours/week, rotating shifts
Job Description
- Provide nursing care in the Emergency Room setting.
- Work 36 hours per week with rotating shifts.
- Shared housing provided at no cost.
Required Qualifications
- License: Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) License (Mass RN License required; MA Conditional Licenses not accepted).
- Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Experience: Minimum years of specialty experience not explicitly stated; assume standard RN Emergency Room experience expected.
- Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required.
Health and Safety Requirements
- N95 Fit Test within 365 days of start date (no onsite fit testing; must be completed prior).
- Documentation of immunizations and/or immunity:
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR)
- Influenza vaccine (required during flu season: Oct 1 - Mar 15; no exemptions)
- Tuberculosis (TB) test within 3 months of start date (skin test or blood test)
- Hepatitis B vaccination or immunity (strongly preferred)
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years (preferred)
- Health Statement signed by MD/DO/NP/PA within 365 days of start date.
- Respirator Medical Clearance Attestation (if fit test required).
Background and Compliance Checks
- Criminal Background Check within 45 days prior to start.
- Massachusetts CORI background check within 30 days prior to start.
- Social Security Number Trace covering past 7 years.
- National Sex Offender Registry check within 30 days prior to start.
- Exclusion checks against OIG, GSA, MassHealth, and NH Medicaid lists.
- Verification of highest level of education achieved.
Documentation and Submission Requirements
- Resume including past 7 years of work experience with city and state.
- Two professional references within 4 years (minimum one supervisor or above in skillset).
- Skills checklist completed within 1 year of submission.
- Candidate submission coversheet required for initial assignment.
Additional Notes
- Must complete FEMA ICS 100 Training (no expiration).
- Housing agreement required if staying in provided housing.
- No religious or medical exemptions allowed for N95 fit testing or influenza vaccine.
- All documentation must be current and compliant with facility and state regulations.
This position is ideal for experienced Emergency Room RNs licensed in Massachusetts who are comfortable with travel assignments and meeting comprehensive health and compliance requirements.
