Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN Medical/Surgical)

Location: Elmira, New York

Job Description

  • Primary and team nursing
  • Primary stroke care

Required Qualifications

  • License: Valid New York RN license, verified within 30 days prior to start
  • Certifications:
    • BLS (American Heart Association)
    • ACLS (American Heart Association)
    • 8 hours of stroke training (including NHISS)
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of specialty experience (default assumption for RN Medical/Surgical unless otherwise specified)
  • Skills & Competencies:
    • Completion of Arnot Skills Checklist for the assigned unit
    • Passing score (80% or higher) on Arnot Core Competency Exam for RNs
  • Health & Safety Requirements:
    • COVID-19 vaccine or agency declination
    • MMR immunity (positive IgG titer or 2 vaccine series)
    • Fit test for approved mask models within last 12 months
    • Hepatitis B immunity or declination form
    • Influenza vaccine or declination (mask required if declined)
    • TB testing within last 12 months (PPD or Quantiferon)
    • Varicella immunity (positive titer or 2 vaccine series)
    • Tdap vaccine or declination form (preferred, not required)
    • Physical/Health Statement within last 12 months, including vitals and vision screening
  • Professional Requirements:
    • Valid US driver’s license or state ID (not expired)
    • Agency background check within 30 days of start (including criminal and FACIS checks)
    • 9+ panel drug screen within 30 days of start
    • Complete employment and education history for last 7 years
    • Two professional references (1 from last 12 months, 1 from last 3 years)
    • Signed job description and employment verification
    • Education verification for initial nursing degree (ASN or BSN)
    • Submission of color headshot photo
    • Completion of Arnot Health Personal Information Form, Code of Conduct, Confirmation of Assignment, Self Study Packet and Quiz, Sexual Harassment Acknowledgement, Parking Registration Form, and Drug Tobacco Acknowledgement
    • Completion of 7 instant background checks (including NYOMIG, OFAC, OIG, NSO, SAM, and state registries)

Generally speaking, Host Healthcare doesn't always have the highest rate on the market. Having gone with competing agencies in the past, I have often been disappointed and unsupported and ultimately found it wasn't worth the small pay bump
