Job Description

The staff nurse provides direct patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation) to address physical, psychosocial, safety, rehabilitative, and learning needs of patients and their families. The nurse collaborates with peers, physicians, and allied support services, manages care of assigned patients, and directs ancillary staff activities.

Shift

3 x 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
Weekend rotation required
No on-call requirement

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, with at least some experience within the last year
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Cons

Generally speaking, Host Healthcare doesn't always have the highest rate on the market. Having gone with competing agencies in the past, I have often been disappointed and unsupported and ultimately found it wasn't worth the small pay bump
