Job Description

• Work on a 36-bed telemetry/surgical floor
• Experience with EPIC electronic health record system required
• Locals allowed at the same rate

Required Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) license for Virginia
• Minimum 2 years of experience in specialty (Telemetry/Surgical Nursing)
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (AHA, ARC, Military & American Safety & Health Institute; online CPR NOT acceptable)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required for telemetry units
• Stroke education CEUs required annually (1 hour for Med Surg units)
• Must pass medication/pharmacology competency exam and other competency exams as applicable
• Background check: 7-year criminal history within a year of start, updated annually
• Government-issued photo ID required
• Physical exam within last 12 months
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within last 12 months (with clearance if positive)
• Drug screening within last 12 months
• Flu vaccination required during flu season (10/1-3/31) with strict deadlines for documentation or approved exemptions
• COVID vaccination series preferred
• 2 professional references required
• Employment application/resume required

Additional Requirements

• Must complete facility-specific documents including confidentiality agreement, dress code policy, scrub colors, safety brochure, drug-free policy, hand washing hygiene policy, and others prior to start
• Photo for badge must meet facility specifications
• Fingerprinting and Virginia State Police Check may be required depending on placement
• Annual updates required for certain certifications and competencies
• Must be at least 21 years old (25 if transporting patients) with minimum 3 years driving experience if applicable

Summary

This is a 13-week travel contract for an experienced Registered Nurse with telemetry/surgical floor expertise.
