Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - ICU
Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Work in an Acuity Adaptable Unit (not a pure ICU unit)
- Schedule: Every Other Week (EOW) or as needed; Every Other Holiday (EOH) or as needed
- May need to float onsite within skill set or to sites within 40 miles if needed
- Requires proficiency with EPIC electronic health record system
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
Required Qualifications
Licensure & Certifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license with primary source verification within 30 days prior to start
- Nursys verification required within 30 days prior to start
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (AHA)
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required
Health & Compliance Requirements
- Documented proof of two MMR vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted)
- Fit test required for all travelers (preferred prior to start, can be completed onsite)
- Hepatitis B vaccination series completion or signed declination
- Influenza vaccine required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); exemptions accepted with mask requirement
- Varicella immunity documentation or vaccination (no declinations accepted)
- Tdap vaccination valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted)
- Tuberculosis screening: 2-step PPD or IGRA within required timeframes; positive results require chest X-ray and annual TB questionnaire
- Statement of good health or completed physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
- 12-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start, updated annually thereafter
Background & Verification
- Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry, and others within 30 days prior to start
- Employment verification for the past 7 years
- Education verification relevant to clinical work within 90 days prior to start
- Professional references: at least two required prior to first assignment
Skills & Competency Testing
- Specialty exam in ICU nursing with minimum 80% passing score, updated every 3 years
- Core competencies including HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA topics, updated every 3 years
- EKG exam with minimum 80% passing score, updated every 3 years
- Epic test-out and training checklist with signed attestation
Additional Requirements
- Driver’s license or state ID (must not be expired and must match address on file)
- Badge photo (forward-facing headshot with white or blue background, no alterations)
- Completion of onboarding requirements and pre-hire modules specific to nursing contingent workers
