Job Opportunity: ICU Registered Nurse

Location: Modesto, California

Job Description

• Responsible for assessment, coordination, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care in an acute patient setting.
• Provides direct patient care, patient/family education, and manages transitions of care.
• Develops and implements individualized care plans considering psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and lifestyle factors.
• Maintains collaborative relationships with patients, families, physicians, and healthcare providers through effective communication.
• Adheres to policies, industry standards, best practices, and applicable laws to ensure optimal patient experience.

Shift Details

• Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each
• Weekend Requirement: Every other Saturday and Sunday; holidays as needed

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in California
• Minimum 1 year of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience within the last year
• ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Experience

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (ICU)
• Required years of experience: Minimum 1 year ICU experience within the last year
• Prior travel experience: Not required

Background and Compliance Requirements

• 7-year background check required within 6 months of start
• Education verification required (Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred)
• Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids due to California law)
• Physical exam required within 1 year of start
• Fit mask test required within 1 year of start and must be renewed annually
• Immunizations and health screenings required including:

  • TB screening and annual renewal
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or declination
  • Varicella immunity or vaccination
  • Seasonal flu vaccination during flu season (or signed declination)
• Negative drug test and other health clearances as applicable

Additional Requirements

• Must complete various competency exams as applicable (medication/pharmacology, dysrhythmia/EKG, unit-specific skills)
• Must provide 7 years of verifiable work history with no gaps over 30 days
• Required to review and sign facility-specific documents and policies prior to start (e.g., code of conduct, business standards, regulatory orientation)
• Passport-style photo required for badge issuance

Notes

• Minimal return-to-office (RTO) will be approved
• Some certifications and verifications must be updated or completed within specific timeframes relative to start date
• Religious and medical exemptions for certain immunizations and fit testing may be considered with proper documentation and approval
