Registered Nurse - Behavioral Health

Location: Holyoke, Massachusetts

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Overview

As a Behavioral Health Registered Nurse, you will provide direct and indirect patient care through the nursing process, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. You will develop nursing care plans in coordination with patients, families, and interdisciplinary staff. Communication of changes in patient condition with physicians, nursing supervisors, and co-workers is essential. Participation in discharge planning is also required.

Work Schedule

• Shift: Days (7 AM - 7 PM)
• No block schedule
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend required
• No call requirements
• Float requirements: Yes

Unit Information

• Number of Beds: 104 across five units (adult, pediatric, geriatric)
• Patient Ratios: Approximately 1:8 (lower ratios for pediatric and geriatric units)
• Patient Population: Geriatric, pediatric (ages 5-17), and adult patients
• Common Diagnoses: Schizophrenia, depression, bipolar disorder, substance use disorder, anxiety
• Equipment: None specified
• Electronic Health Record: Cerner
• Supervision: Shift supervisors only

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts
• Minimum 1 year of Behavioral Health nursing experience within the last year
• BLS certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing
• Experience working with adolescent, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients
• Experience in an inpatient behavioral health setting

Preferred Qualifications

• Behavioral health nursing experience
