Description
Job Opportunity: Surgical RN
Location: Kansas City, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Job Summary
- Provide direct and indirect patient care in the peri-operative setting for patients of all ages (neonates to older adults).
- Accountable to the OR Charge Nurse and Director of Surgical Services.
- Coordinate patient care with surgeons and anesthesiologists.
- Supervise and guide OR Technicians and other personnel.
- Maintain professional nursing standards and ensure compliance with regulations and policies.
- Participate in performance improvement activities, unit meetings, and in-services.
- Serve as a resource for other staff as appropriate.
- On-call schedule includes weekday evenings and weekends when scheduled.
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license valid in Missouri.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Completion of specialty nursing exams with a minimum score of 80%.
- Successful completion of required drug screening (minimum 10-panel test).
- Up-to-date immunizations and health screenings including:
- COVID-19 vaccine or declination.
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) immunity proof.
- Hepatitis B vaccination.
- Influenza vaccine or declination (seasonal).
- Tuberculosis test within one year of start date.
- Varicella immunity.
- Tdap vaccination.
- Annual respirator fit test.
- National criminal background check within one year of start date.
- Valid government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License, State ID, or Passport).
- Completion of required competency exams and checklists (pharmacology, rhythm interpretation, core competencies, specialty exam).
- Employment eligibility verification (Form I-9).
- Workplace violence prevention training.
- Elder abuse registry check as required by Missouri state law.
