Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Med Surg Tele Unit
Location: Crescent City, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
Provide direct nursing care for patients of all ages in the Med Surg Telemetry Unit using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation). Manage care of assigned patients and direct ancillary staff activities. Assess patients' physiological and psychological needs comprehensively. Plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans. Demonstrate leadership skills, including charge nurse responsibilities.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in California
- Minimum 1 year of Med Surg / Telemetry experience, with experience within the last year
- Certifications issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- Education: Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Job Duties
- Deliver direct nursing care to patients in Med Surg Telemetry
- Manage patient care assignments and coordinate ancillary staff
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans
- Serve as charge nurse when required, demonstrating leadership and cost-effective care management
Additional Requirements
- Must complete and sign facility-specific documents prior to start (e.g., job description acknowledgment, standards of business conduct, regulatory orientation, code of conduct, refund policy)
- Complete TB questionnaire within 90 days of start, renewed annually
- May require additional certifications or training based on position specifics (e.g., Neonatal Resuscitation, Trauma Nursing Core Course, Crisis Prevention Institute)
- Must comply with all background and health screening requirements before and during assignment
