    Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Outpatient Surgery

    Location: Tracy, California
    Employment Type: Travel/Contract
    Contract Length: 13 weeks


    Job Description

    • Perform routine nursing assignments and develop competence through structured work.
    • Accountable for assessment, coordination, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care including direct patient care, patient/family education, and transitions of care.
    • Deliver holistic and individualized care considering psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and lifestyle factors.
    • Foster collaborative relationships with patients, families, physicians, and healthcare providers through effective communication.
    • Work shift: 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts.

    Required Qualifications

    • Valid RN license in California.
    • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
    • Minimum 3 years of outpatient surgery nursing experience, including experience within the last year.
    • Experience in an outpatient setting.
    • Certifications issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross:
      • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
      • BLS (Basic Life Support)
      • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
    • Experience with Epic electronic health record system.

    Facility & Work Environment Highlights

    Background & Compliance Requirements

    • 7-year background check including SSN trace, county searches, sex offender, education verification, and FACIS Level 3 screening.
    • Annual updates required for EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and FACIS screenings.
    • Education verification required; BSN preferred but not mandatory.
    • Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids due to CA law).
    • Physical exam within 1 year of start.
    • Fit mask test within 1 year, renewed annually (with accommodations for religious exemptions or facial hair).
    • Immunizations and health screenings required:
      • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
      • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 90 days, renewed annually
      • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination
      • Hepatitis B vaccination or declination
      • Varicella immunity or vaccination
      • Seasonal flu vaccination during flu season (Nov-April) or signed declination with mask requirement in patient care areas.
    • TB questionnaire within 90 days of start, renewed annually.
    • Respiratory safety clearance required annually.

    Additional Requirements

    • Employment application with full 7 years of work history, no gaps.
    • Verification of up to 7 years of employment history required.
    • Unit-specific skills checklist required, renewed annually.
    • References: 2 professional references within 3 years for clinical roles.

    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
    • CCRN (Critical Care RN)
    • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
    • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring)
    • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)
    • Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) – may be completed onsite during orientation if not current.
    • NIH Stroke Certification
