Registered Nurse (Ortho) - Travel Assignment
Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Overview
- Role: Registered Nurse (RN)
- Specialty: Orthopedics (Ortho)
- Shift: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Weekly Hours: 36 or 48 (must be specified on submission)
- Weekend Hours: Every other weekend as required
- Call Requirements: None
- Number of Openings: 3
- Unit Beds: 30
- Patient Ratio: 1:6
- EMR System: EPIC
- Float: As needed to similar or lower acuity units
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Missouri
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 2 years of Med Surg experience, with at least 1 year within the last year
- Experience in an inpatient setting
- Orthopedics experience
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
Job Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for orthopedic patients
- Utilize the nursing process to deliver care for patients post-trauma, surgical interventions, and with medical comorbidities
- Coordinate patient care with ancillary departments to optimize outcomes and comfort
- Maintain patient rights and confidentiality
- Adhere to professional accountability and facility standards
- Work night shift orientation on day shift; availability for full orientation week required
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Stand and walk most of the shift
- Frequent bending, stooping, lifting, and turning patients with assistance
- Physical demands include pushing, pulling, gripping up to 50 lbs, pinching up to 15 lbs, minimal kneeling, crouching, and crawling
- Exposure to blood and body fluids is a high risk
- Flexible scheduling may be required based on patient care needs
Additional Information
- Flu vaccination is mandatory from November 1 through April 1; no declinations accepted
- Dress code: Black scrubs only
- Teamwork, dependability, and flexibility are key personality traits for success
This position is an auto-offer travel assignment with guaranteed hours and specific scheduling requirements.
