Description
Registered Nurse – Cardiac Medical ICU
Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights (19:00 - 07:30)
Weekly Hours: 36 or 48 (flexible, must be indicated on submission)
Weekend Hours: Every other weekend as required

Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri
- Minimum 3 years of Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) experience, including experience within the last year
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience in an inpatient setting
Job Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Coordinate patient care with ancillary departments to optimize outcomes and comfort
- Maintain professional accountability and patient confidentiality
- May float to other stepdown units depending on staffing needs
- Follow facility policies, nursing practice guidelines, and state nurse practice act
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Stand and walk most of the shift
- Frequent bending, stooping, lifting, and turning patients with assistance
- Ability to push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs; pinch up to 15 lbs
- May work varying schedules and shifts based on patient care needs
- Exposure to blood and body fluids is a high risk
Additional Information
- Flu vaccination or approved exemption required for travel assignment (Nov 1 - Apr 1)
- Night shift orientation occurs on day shift; availability for full orientation week required
- Dress code: Black scrubs only; no hats, non-approved jackets/sweatshirts, or AirPods allowed
