Registered Nurse - Step Down
Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
Weekly Hours: 36 or 48 (must be specified on submission)
Weekend Hours: Every other weekend as required

- Patient Types: Post-op CABG/Valve, Thoracotomies, Respiratory Failure, Chest Pain
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Missouri
- Minimum 1 year of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience within the last year in an inpatient setting
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Job Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Utilize the nursing process for patients post trauma, surgical interventions, and medical comorbidities
- Coordinate patient care with ancillary departments
- Maintain patient rights and confidentiality
- Float to similar or lower acuity units as needed
- Follow professional accountability and facility standards
Physical and Work Environment
- Stand and walk most of the shift
- Frequent bending, stooping, lifting, and turning patients with assistance
- Ability to push, pull, grip up to 50 lbs, pinch up to 15 lbs, kneel, crouch, and crawl minimally
- Exposure to blood and body fluids
- May work varying schedules and shifts based on patient care needs
Additional Information
- Flu vaccination required November 1 - April 1; declinations not accepted
- Night shift orientation occurs on day shift; availability for full orientation week required
- Dress code: All black scrubs (Mercy logo not included here per instructions), no hoodies, jackets without logo, t-shirts, open-toed shoes, earbuds, or fake nails
