Registered Nurse - Med Surg

Location: Sierra Vista, Arizona
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Provide nursing care in an acute care medical-surgical unit located in a 34-bed hospital. The unit serves a patient population including geriatric, adult, and occasional pediatric patients (pediatrics not assigned to travelers). The role involves working primarily the night shift (7 PM - 7 AM) with occasional weekend shifts and on-call duties when the unit is down staffed.

Unit Type: Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg)
Number of Beds: 34
Patient Ratios: 6:1
Patient Population: Telemetry, surgical, general medical patients
Equipment: Alaris pumps, SCD machines, feeding tubes, telemetry monitors
Electronic Health Record (EHR): Cerner
Float Requirements: May be asked to care for inpatient holds

Schedule

Shift: 7 PM - 7 AM
Weekend Hours: Occasional weekend work required (same shift hours)
Call Requirements: Only when down staffed or placed on call

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Arizona
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Minimum 1 year of experience in medical-surgical (Med Surg) and telemetry nursing, with experience within the last year
One year or more of total travel nursing experience
Current ACLS certification
Current BLS certification
Healthcare experience required

Additional Information

Dress Code: Scrubs of any color; closed-toed shoes required
Personality Fit: Flexible and willing to help
