Registered Nurse - Behavioral Health

Location: Holyoke, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Travel
Shift: Nights (7 PM - 7 AM)
Weekly Hours: 36 (Every other weekend required)
Call Requirements: No call

Job Summary

As a Behavioral Health Registered Nurse, you will provide direct and indirect patient care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. You will develop nursing care plans in coordination with patients, families, and interdisciplinary staff. Communication of changes in patient condition to physicians and supervisors is essential. Participation in discharge planning is required.

Unit Information

• Patient Population: Geriatric, pediatric (ages 5-17), and adult patients
• Number of Beds: 104 across five units (2 adult units with 24 beds each, 24 geriatric beds, 12 pediatric beds)
• Patient Ratios: Approximately 1:8, with lower ratios for geriatric and pediatric patients
• Float Requirements: Yes
• Dress Code: Blue scrubs

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts
• Minimum 1 year of Behavioral Health nursing experience within the last year
• BLS certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing
• Experience in an inpatient setting
• Willingness to work nights and every other weekend

Preferred Experience

• Behavioral health nursing experience, including care for patients with schizophrenia, depression, bipolar disorder, substance use disorder, and anxiety

Additional Notes

• No trauma level designation for the unit
• No call responsibilities
• Use of electronic health records (Cerner)
• Supervision by shift supervisors only
