Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Location: Northlake, Illinois
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

As a Respiratory Therapist (RRT), you will provide cardiopulmonary services following approved protocols and department policies. Responsibilities include:

• Assisting physicians with invasive and non-invasive procedures
• Delivery of medicated aerosols via medical compressed gas
• Maintaining airways and ventilator management
• Insertion of arterial lines and intubations
• Performing pulmonary function studies, cardiac and pulmonary stress tests, and blood gases

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license in Illinois
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC)
• ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Minimum 2 years recent experience in respiratory therapy, including:

  • Ventilator management and ventilator weaning
  • Tracheostomy care
  • Endotracheal (ET) tube management
  • CPAP and BiPAP treatments
• Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years recent clinical experience in respiratory therapy with ventilator and airway management
• Specialty experience requirement: 2 years (based on facility requirements, overriding lower stated years)
• No explicit prior travel experience required
