    Job Opportunity: Case Manager

    Location: Burlingame, California
    Employment Type: Travel/Contract
    Contract Length: 13 weeks


    Job Description

    • Case Manager role requiring cross-training on all units to provide coverage as needed.
    • Acute Care experience is required.
    • Shift details: Variable start times between 7:00 AM and 3:30 PM; every other weekend; floating to various units as needed.

    Required Qualifications

    • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California.
    • Minimum of 5 years of Acute Care experience, including experience within the last year.
    • Minimum of 5 years of Case Manager experience.
    • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC).
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by AHA or ARC.
    • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by AHA or ARC.
    • Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification.
    • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification.
    • Medication Administration Badge (MAB).
    • Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification.

    Certifications (as applicable)

    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA or ARC.
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – AHA or ARC.
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) – AHA/AAP; Instructor or Advanced Provider Course preferred.
    • CCRN (Critical Care RN).
    • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course).
    • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) – typically required for Labor & Delivery.
    • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute).
    • Other certifications may be required depending on unit assignment.

    Background and Compliance Requirements

    • 7-year background check required within 6 months of start.
    • Various federal and state screenings including EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, FACIS Level 3, Sex Offender Search, OFAC Sanctions List, and Medi-Cal Suspended and Ineligible Provider List.
    • Education verification required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
    • Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids per California law).
    • Physical exam within 1 year of start.
    • Fit mask test within 1 year of start; must be renewed annually.
    • Immunizations and titers required: Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap, TB screening, Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella.
    • Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (Nov 1 - Apr 30) or signed declination.
    • Respiratory safety clearance required prior to start and annually.
    • Color blindness exam if applicable.

    Documentation and Other Requirements

    • Photo for badge (passport-style).
    • Full 7 years of work history with no gaps over 30 days; employment verification required.
    • Unit-specific skills checklist required; renewed annually.
    • Various facility-specific documents and attestations must be reviewed and signed prior to start.
    • References: 2 professional references required for clinical acute care candidates.

    Additional Notes

    • Floating to various units requires flexibility and adaptability.
    • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
    • Candidate must be able to work variable shifts and every other weekend.
