Job Opportunity: RN Medical/Surgical

Location: Wichita, Kansas
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (approximately 13 weeks)
Schedule: Every other weekend, no on-call required
Uniform: Ceil blue scrubs
Electronic Health Record (EHR) System: Cerner OneChart

Required Qualifications

• License: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license with verification through Nursys within 30 days prior to start
• Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association (AHA) certified
• Experience: Minimum years of experience not explicitly stated; assume standard RN Medical/Surgical experience required
• Additional Requirements:

  • Professional resume/profile submission required
  • At least two professional references prior to first assignment
  • Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, and National Sex Offender Registry within 30 days of assignment start
  • Employment verification for the past seven years
  • Completion of onboarding and competency assessments specific to the specialty and facility requirements

Health and Safety Requirements

• Proof of immunizations and health screenings including:

  • MMR (two vaccines or positive titer; no declinations accepted)
  • Varicella (two vaccines, serological evidence, or verified history; no declinations accepted)
  • Tdap (valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted)
  • Influenza vaccine during flu season (exemptions accepted with mask requirement)
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series completion or signed declination
  • Tuberculosis screening (2-step PPD or IGRA with follow-up as required)
• Fit testing for respiratory protection (preferred prior to start, can be completed onsite)
• 12-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter
• Statement of good health or completed physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually

Onboarding and Training Requirements

• Completion of core competencies including HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA topics, and specialty-specific skills checklist
• Passing score of at least 80% on Cerner EHR test and EKG exam (two attempts allowed)
• Completion of facility-specific onboarding modules and attestations
• MOAB Moderate Risk De-Escalation Training
• Submission of a forward-facing badge photo with a white or blue background (no alterations)

Additional Notes

• Driver’s license or state ID must be current and match address on file
• Various verifications and background checks must be updated annually or if there is a break in service longer than 90 days
• Optional unit-specific checklist may be required by unit leadership within one week of assignment start
