Job Opportunity: RN Acute Rehab
Location: Waco, Texas
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Provide direct patient care in an acute rehabilitation setting.
- Implement individualized care plans.
- Coordinate patient discharge needs.
- Preferred experience in inpatient rehab nursing.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum of 2 years of rehabilitation experience
- Rehabilitation experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
Onboarding & Compliance Requirements
- Completion of specialty and core competency exams prior to first assignment and updated every 3 years.
- Completion of unit-specific checklists as required.
- Health and immunization requirements including:
- MMR (two vaccines or positive titer; no declinations accepted).
- Varicella (two vaccines, immunity evidence, or history; no declinations accepted).
- Tdap (valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted).
- Influenza vaccine during flu season (exemptions accepted with mask requirement).
- Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination.
- TB screening: 2-step PPD or IGRA, chest X-ray if positive, annual TB questionnaire.
- Fit test for respiratory protection (preferred before start, can be done onsite).
- Drug screening: 12-panel drug test within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter.
- Criminal background check including social security trace, OIG search, national sex offender registry, and others within 30 days prior to start.
- Employment and education verifications required.
- Driver’s license or state ID (must be current and match address on file).
Additional Notes
- Must complete onboarding requirements including education attestations and contract worker onboarding.
- Must complete Epic electronic health record test-out and training checklist.
- Health statement or physical exam required prior to first assignment and updated annually.
- Professional references (minimum two) required prior to first assignment.
- Some optional documents include badge photo and name change documentation.
