Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist (RRT-NICU)
Location: Cleveland, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Job Description
- Work as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) in NICU, PICU, and CVICU settings with pediatric patients.
- May float to various NICU and pediatric rehab units.
- Schedule options: 3x12-hour or 4x12-hour shifts.
- High-level care experience required in Pediatrics, PICU, and NICU (Level 4).
Required Qualifications
- Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Ohio
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist
- Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
- Experience working with pediatric patients
- Experience working with neonate patients
- NBRC (National Board for Respiratory Care) credential
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) certification
Compliance and Onboarding Requirements
- Criminal background check (FCRA compliant 7-year search) required prior to start and must be updated for breaks in service over 2 months.
- FBI and state fingerprinting required within 12 months of start; onsite fingerprinting required for pediatric assignments.
- Pre-employment physical exam within 1 year of start, including capability assessment to perform essential job functions.
- Fit mask testing (N95 or equivalent) within 12 months of start, updated annually.
- Negative TB test (2-step PPD or equivalent) within 6 months of start, renewed annually. Chest X-ray required if prior positive TB test.
- Immunization or titer proof required for: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B.
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months of start, updated annually.
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 31 - Mar 31).
- Completion of facility-specific online training modules prior to start (approximately 4-5 hours).
- Two recent satisfactory pre-employment references required.
- Employment application must include at least 3 years of prior work history, with 2 years in acute care and similar clinical area.
- Unit-specific skills checklist and competency exams must be completed and updated annually.
Additional Information
- All required certifications and work history must be submitted at time of application.
- Fingerprinting and background checks must be completed promptly to avoid delays in onboarding.
- Candidates working with pediatric patients will complete fingerprinting onsite as part of orientation.
- Must carry a valid government-issued photo ID while on assignment.
