    Job Opportunity: ICU Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

    Location: Crescent City, California
    Employment Type: Travel/Contract
    Contract Length: 13 weeks


    Job Summary

    Seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse for a travel contract position. The role includes every other weekend shifts and on-call/call-off duties based on census.


    Required Qualifications

    • Valid RN license in California
    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
    • Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, including experience within the last year
    • Certifications:
      • ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
      • BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
      • PALS
      • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
      • CCRN (Critical Care Registered Nurse)
      • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
      • Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB)
      • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
      • CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention)
    • Verification requirements:
      • State License 1 Verification
      • NURSYS Verification (RN, LPN/LVN, AP)

    Background and Compliance Requirements

    • 7-year background check including SSN trace, county searches, sex offender, and education verification
    • Annual updates for EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and FACIS Level 3 screening
    • Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids per CA law)
    • Physical exam within 1 year of start
    • Fit mask test within 1 year, renewed annually (with accommodations for religious exemptions or facial hair)
    • Immunizations and health screenings including:
      • TB test or chest x-ray (annual renewal)
      • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
      • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination
      • Hepatitis B vaccination or declination
      • Varicella immunity or vaccination
      • Seasonal flu vaccination during flu season (or approved declination)
    • Respiratory safety clearance annually
    • References: 2 professional references within last 3 years required (Aya requirement)
    • Full 7 years of work history with no gaps in employment

    Additional Requirements

    • Completion of facility-specific documents and trainings prior to start, including:
      • Job description review/signature
      • Standards of business conduct
      • Code of conduct
      • Vendor training
      • TB questionnaire
      • Religious accommodation forms if applicable
    • Competency exams as applicable (medication/pharmacology, telemetry, dysrhythmia/EKG)
    • Some positions may require pass/fail testing such as EKG or medication exams onsite

    Work Schedule

    • Every other weekend required
    • On-call/call-off based on census
