Location: Modesto, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts
Call Requirements: Will take weekend and weekday call
Job Description
Seeking a Registered Nurse for a GI Lab setting. This is a travel contract position requiring flexibility for call coverage on both weekdays and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
- Minimum of 1 year of endoscopy experience, with endoscopy experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Certified Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN)
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) certification
- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Willingness to take weekend and weekday call

Background and Compliance Requirements
- 7-year background check required within 6 months of start, including Social Security trace with all aliases, county searches, sex offender search, education verification, and other standard screenings
- FACIS Level 3 screening required within 2 weeks of start and monthly thereafter
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required and updated annually
- Education verification required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred but not mandatory
- Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana due to California law)
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually (with accommodations for religious exemptions or facial hair)
- Immunizations and health screenings including:
- TB screening and annual renewal
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination
- Hepatitis B vaccination or declination
- Varicella immunity or vaccination
- Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination during flu season (Nov-April)
- Negative drug test and other health clearances as required
Certifications & Competencies
- May require additional certifications depending on unit specifics (e.g., CCRN, TNCC, NRP, EFM) — verify with recruiter or manager
- Medication and pharmacology competency exams as applicable
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam may be required for some telemetry units
Documentation & Orientation
- Must review and sign facility-specific documents including standards of business conduct, code of conduct, vendor training, and regulatory orientation prior to start
- Photo for badge required
- Employment application must include full 7 years of work history with no gaps
- References: 2 professional references required for clinical positions
