Job Opportunity: IMC Registered Nurse - Interventional Radiology

Location: Brooklyn, New York

Job Summary

  • Provide direct patient care using the nursing process.
  • Responsible for prescribing, delegating, and coordinating care for assigned patients.
  • Deliver care based on established nursing standards and hospital policies.
  • Diagnose and treat human responses to actual and potential health problems through case finding, health teaching, counseling, and supportive/restorative care.
  • Supervise care provided by LPNs, RNs on permit, nursing attendants, technicians, and supplemental staff.

Responsibilities

  • Assess immediate and ongoing care needs of patients and their significant others.
  • Develop comprehensive, current care plans addressing physical, psychosocial, spiritual, teaching, and discharge needs.
  • Provide and oversee direct patient care and ensure all aspects of care are delivered appropriately.
  • Observe, evaluate, document, and communicate patient responses to illness and treatments; reassess as needed.
  • Coordinate overall care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, prioritizing care and follow-up.
  • Integrate age-specific care needs (e.g., pediatrics, geriatrics) into care plans.
  • Accept accountability for nursing interventions and outcomes based on clinical judgment.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities related to patient care and nursing standards.
  • Communicate effectively, manage stressful situations, and facilitate interdisciplinary relationships.
  • Participate in staff orientation and assume charge responsibilities as delegated.
  • Assist with coverage of patients and work on other units as assigned.
  • Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment for patients, families, and staff.
  • Serve as a clinical resource for student nurses.
  • Engage in meetings, committees, educational programs, research, and pilot projects.
  • Commit to continuing professional growth and education, including pursuing advanced degrees and certifications.
  • Participate in professional and community organizations.

Contract Length

  • Approximately 13 weeks

Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of critical care experience.
  • Knowledge and competency in both interventional and diagnostic procedures.
  • Ability to fully utilize electronic medical record systems and relevant healthcare/billing systems.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with physicians for procedures such as TEE and loop recorder implants.

Required Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Required Certifications & Licensure

  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

Preferred Certifications

  • Board Certification as a Clinical Registered Nurse (CRN)
