Job Opportunity: RN - Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU)

Location: Tuscaloosa, Alabama
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Provide nursing care in an 8-bed high-acuity Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) for adult cardiac patients.
• Manage complex monitoring and treatment of patients transferred from Cath Lab, Emergency Department, and Acute Care areas requiring specialized cardiac care.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
• Maintain a safe, secure, and comfortable environment for patients.
• Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals as needed.
• Work schedule includes 36 or 48 hours per week, holidays as required, and every other weekend.

Required Qualifications

Education

• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Licensure

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Alabama.

Certifications

• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Basic Life Support (BLS).
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.

Experience

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience.
• At least 1 year of recent experience in Cardiac/Vascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU).

Additional Information

• This is a patient-facing, clinical position.
• Electronic Medical Record system used: Meditech.
• Dress code: Solid navy scrub colors.
• Parking is available.
