Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract
Location
- Cleveland, Ohio
Position Details
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Shift: Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
- Contract Length: 12 weeks
- Schedule: Weekends as needed; may float to other facilities as required
Required Qualifications
- Valid Respiratory Care Practitioner license in Ohio
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Care Practitioner, including experience within the last year
- Current NBRC certification
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Criminal background check (FCRA compliant 7-year search including SSN trace, nationwide criminal, sex offender, and OFAC checks) required prior to start; must be updated if break in service exceeds 2 months
- FBI and BCI fingerprinting required within 12 months of start; must be completed before onboarding and badge issuance
- Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
- Transcript or diploma verification required
- Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming ability to safely perform job functions
- Fit mask test within 12 months of start, updated annually (specific approved mask models required; facial hair exemptions handled case-by-case)
- Negative 2-step TB test or equivalent within 6 months of start, renewed annually; chest x-ray required if prior positive TB test
- Immunization or titer proof required for: Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months of start, updated annually; instant drug screens not accepted
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 31 - Mar 31); no declinations accepted
- HIPAA acknowledgment form required, updated annually
- Unit-specific competency exam and skills checklist required, updated annually
- Two recent satisfactory pre-employment references required
- Employment application must include at least 3 years of prior work history, with minimum 2 years clinical practice in an acute care setting relevant to the assignment
Onboarding and Training
- Completion of facility-specific online training modules (approximately 4-5 hours) required prior to start; must be completed on a computer using Chrome browser without skipping training videos
- Badge pickup at facility required after module completion and prior to start
- TB results needed to complete onboarding modules
- Candidates working with pediatric patients (RRT-NICU) will complete fingerprinting onsite as part of onboarding
Additional Notes
- All work history, including any previous positions at this healthcare system, must be included in the candidate profile
- Scheduling and return-to-office (RTO) requests must be communicated during submission and interview
- Candidates may be required to float to other facilities within the system as needed
