Registered Nurse - Operating Room (OR)

Location: Richlands, Virginia
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Facility & Unit Overview

• Acute care hospital with 175 beds
• Operating Room unit with 5 ORs
• Patient population primarily adult and geriatric, some pediatrics (tonsils and dental restorations)
• Patient ratio: one patient at a time
• Equipment includes Bovie, laparoscopic towers, Hana table, Urology table, Laser litho, Harmonic scalpel, stirrups
• Electronic Health Record system: Meditech Magic

Position Details

• Role: RN Circulator in Surgery
• Number of Openings: 1
• Shift: Day shift, 06:30 AM – 03:00 PM
• Weekly Hours: 40 guaranteed
• Call Requirements: 1-2 weekends per month, 1-2 weekdays per week (callback cases)
• Dress Code: Green scrubs provided; personal scrubs not allowed; no nail polish

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia
• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
• Current BLS certification
• ACLS certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing
• Experience in Orthopedics, OB/GYN, ENT Surgery, Pediatrics, and Urology

Skills & Experience

• Must have experience with:

  • General surgery
  • Orthopedic surgery
  • C-sections and other gynecological surgeries
  • ENT procedures
  • Pediatric dental surgeries
  • Urology cases
• Preferred experience with vascular cases such as fem-pop and AV fistula
• No DaVinci robot cases

• Call schedule requires flexibility for weekends and weekdays
• Must be a team player and able to work well with others
