Registered Nurse - Behavioral Health

Location: Holyoke, Massachusetts

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Provide direct and indirect patient care in a behavioral health setting using the nursing process (Assessment, Planning, Intervention, Evaluation). Develop nursing care plans in coordination with patients, families, and interdisciplinary staff. Communicate clinical changes to physicians and supervisors. Participate in discharge planning.

Work Schedule

• Night shift: 7 PM – 7 AM
• 36 hours per week guaranteed
• Every other weekend required
• No call responsibilities
• No block scheduling
• Float requirements apply

Unit & Patient Population

• 104 beds across five units: adult, pediatric (ages 5-17), and geriatric
• Patient ratios approximately 1:8, lower ratios for pediatric and geriatric units
• Common diagnoses: schizophrenia, depression, bipolar disorder, substance use disorder, anxiety
• Must be willing to work with both adult and pediatric patients

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Massachusetts
• BLS certification
• Minimum 1 year of psychiatric nursing experience within the last year
• Experience in an inpatient psychiatric/behavioral health setting
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in behavioral health nursing
