Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery
Location: Fresno, California
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM (12.5 hours)
Job Description
- Labor and Delivery nursing role
- 36 GWW (Guaranteed Work Week) days
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in California
- Labor and Delivery experience (minimum 1 year) within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- ACLS
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- AWHONN/Fetal Heart Monitoring certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Health and Immunization Requirements
- COVID-19 vaccine and 1 booster or approved exemption (optional but recommended)
- MMR: Proof of 2 immunizations, positive IGG titer, or booster/declination accepted
- Hepatitis B: Proof of 3 vaccinations, positive antibody titer, or booster/declination accepted
- TB Test: Negative test within 30 days of start (skin test, QuantiFERON Gold, or T-spot), updated annually; if positive, additional documentation required
- Varicella: Proof of 2 immunizations, positive titer, or declination accepted
- Tdap: Vaccination within past 10 years or declination accepted
- Influenza vaccine: Recommended October through March unless exempted
- COVID test: Required on start date for clinical staff
- Drug screen: 9-panel (minus THC), within 30 days of start, updated annually; retesting required if break in service >30 days
Professional and Compliance Requirements
- Resume/Profile submission required
- Two professional references required (at least one supervisory)
- Criminal background check within 30 days prior to start, including 7-year county, national, SSN trace, employment verification (5 years), OFAC, and NSO; updated every 3 years
- Manual searches within 30 days prior to start and updated annually for:
- OIG (Office of Inspector General)
- EPLS (Excluded Parties List System)
- OFAC (Office of Foreign Assets Control)
- National Sex Offender Registry
- State healthcare exclusion list (Medi-Cal Suspended and Ineligible Provider List)
- Health statement signed within 1 year of start confirming ability to work without restrictions, updated annually
- Confirmation of assignment/job description matching order details, updated with each extension
- Acknowledgement of receipt for policy packet, dispute resolution agreement, confidentiality receipt, and ROI for MyChart signed and submitted
- Badge photo with neutral background, no facial jewelry
- Attestation regarding any Do Not Rehire/Send (DNS) records from prior 3 years on agency letterhead
- Education verification (diploma, degree, or transcripts) and board certification verification if applicable
- Skills checklist specific to clinical role completed within 1 year of start
Additional Notes
- Fit test will be completed onsite on start date
- Driver’s license or state ID (passport accepted) required as identification
- Optional: Social Security trace and driving record if not included in background check
- HLC testing recommended to be completed before start date for stipend eligibility (not mandatory)
This position is suitable for experienced Labor and Delivery RNs who meet the above licensure, certification, and health requirements and are available for a 13-week long-term assignment with 12.5-hour day shifts.
