Job Opportunity: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) - Nights & Every Other Weekend (EOW)

Location: Salem, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM

Unit Overview

• 65-bed Emergency Department with pod-based design
• Separate pediatric pod and separate Acute Mental Health area
• Patient census approximately 230 visits per day
• Clinician-to-patient ratio: 1:4
• Patient population: All ages
• Electronic Medical Record system: EPIC – ASAP
• Floating and rotating shifts required (day rotation low frequency; night position does not rotate)

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Massachusetts
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• PALS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• TNCC certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Additional Requirements

• Must be able to float to other units as needed
• Must be willing to work rotating shifts when requested (day shifts rotate; night shift is fixed)

Onboarding & Compliance

• Primary source verification of professional license and certifications required within 30 days of start date
• Fit testing for N95 respirators required within 365 days prior to start and updated annually (no exemptions allowed)
• Respirator Medical Clearance attestation required if fit test is needed
• Documentation of TB screening within 3 months of start date (skin test or blood test) and updated if break >6 months
• Health statement signed by MD/DO/NP/PA within 365 days of start date and updated if break >6 months
• Documentation of MMR immunity or vaccination required
• Criminal background checks including Massachusetts CORI, SSN trace, national sex offender check, and exclusion checks required within specified timeframes
• Passing scores on medication and advanced dysrhythmia exams required (80% minimum)
• Completion of skills checklist within 1 year of submission
• Submission of resume with 7 years of work history and 2 professional references (minimum 1 supervisor) required for application
• Confirmation of assignment form required upon acceptance and for any extensions

Preferred but Optional

• Hepatitis B vaccination or proof of immunity preferred
• Tdap vaccination within 10 years preferred
• Documentation for name changes if applicable
