    Job Opportunity: Oncology Chemo Certified Nurse (Travel/Contract)

    Location

    • Los Angeles, California

    Job Type

    • Travel/Contract assignment
    • Contract length: 13 weeks

    Schedule

    • Day shift, 4 days per week, 10 hours per day (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM)
    • No weekend, floating, or on-call requirements
    • No scheduling requests can be accommodated

    Required Qualifications

    • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
    • Minimum 2 years of Oncology nursing experience, including experience within the last year
    • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
    • Experience with Epic electronic health record system

    Compliance and Documentation Requirements

    • Government-issued photo ID required
    • Background check within 6 months of start date, including:
      • 7-year county residence history
      • Nationwide criminal search
      • Sex offender search
      • Federal district court search
      • International criminal search if lived outside U.S. in last 7 years
    • Education verification of highest level completed
    • Physical exam within 1 year confirming ability to meet essential job functions
    • Fit test for N95 or equivalent mask within 1 year, updated annually
    • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year; if history of positive TB, additional documentation required
    • Required immunizations/vaccinations:
      • 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer (measles, mumps, rubella)
      • Hepatitis B vaccine series, titer, or declination
      • 2 Varicella vaccines or positive titer (or proof of disease history)
      • Seasonal flu vaccination documentation required during flu season (Nov 1 – Mar 31)
    • Drug screening panel within 1 year (excluding marijuana/THC)
    • Two professional references required, at least one supervisory

    Orientation and Competency Testing

    • Pass/fail EKG competency assessment during orientation (may be online or onsite depending on unit)
    • Medication competency test during orientation (not pass/fail)
    • Additional competency exams as required by specialty, with minimum passing score of 80%
    • Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification check
    • Fire safety training/course required within first 6 months of assignment (onsite during orientation)

    Facility-Specific Requirements

    • Photo for badge must meet strict guidelines (passport-style, centered face, light background, no filters/accessories)
    • Candidates must review and sign facility policies including:
      • Code of Conduct and Attendance Policy
      • Job Hazard Analysis and Safe Work Practices
      • Social Media Policy
    • Scheduling guidelines apply to specific units (ICU, PCU, Med Surg, Telemetry, L&D, NICU, PICU, Pediatrics, Observation, Cath Lab, Oncology inpatient, Endoscopy/GI Lab, Float Pool)

    This position offers a structured day shift schedule with no weekend or on-call duties, ideal for oncology nurses with at least 2 years of experience seeking a travel assignment in California. Certification in oncology nursing and EPIC experience are essential. Compliance with comprehensive health, background, and competency requirements is mandatory for onboarding.
