Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Location: Cleveland, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (3 shifts of 12 hours each, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
Hours per Week: 36


Job Summary

  • Accepting candidates with CRT or RRT credentials.
  • Schedule options include 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts.
  • Weekend work and floating to other facilities as needed.
  • Must communicate all time-off and scheduling requests during submission and interview.
  • Complete and include all work history, including any previous positions at this healthcare system.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Respiratory Care Practitioner license in Ohio
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Care Practitioner, including experience within the last year
  • Current NBRC credential required
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

  • Criminal background check (FCRA compliant 7-year search) required prior to start; must be updated if break in service exceeds 2 months.
  • Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required.
  • Transcript or diploma verification required.
  • FBI and BCI fingerprinting required within 12 months of start; must be completed before onboarding and badge issuance.
  • Unit-specific competency exam required within 12 months of start; must be updated annually.
  • HIPAA acknowledgment form required and must be updated annually.
  • I9/E-Verify attestation required.
  • Pre-employment physical exam within 1 year of start, confirming ability to safely perform job functions.
  • Fit mask test (N95 or equivalent) required within 12 months of start; must be updated annually.
  • Negative 2-step TB test or equivalent within 6 months of start; annual renewal required.
  • Required immunizations or titers for Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella.
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months of start; annual renewal required.
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 31 - Mar 31); no declinations accepted.
  • Two recent satisfactory pre-employment references required.
  • Application must include 3 years of prior work history, with at least 2 years in acute care and similar clinical area.

Onboarding and Training

  • Completion of online training modules (approximately 4-5 hours) prior to start is mandatory; modules must be completed on a computer using Chrome browser.
  • Candidates cannot skip training videos; failure to comply may result in being locked out.
  • Badge pickup from the facility is required prior to start.
  • Candidates working with pediatric patients (RRT-NICU) will complete fingerprinting onsite as part of onboarding.
  • TB results are required to complete onboarding modules.

Additional Notes

  • Candidates may be required to float to other facilities within the system.
  • Fingerprinting results can take up to 30 days; candidates should complete fingerprinting as soon as possible to avoid delays.
  • PAPRs are not approved for failure due to facial hair; religious or medical exemptions may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • All certifications and required documents must be uploaded with appropriate expiration dates.

This position is ideal for experienced Respiratory Therapists licensed in Ohio seeking a travel contract with night shifts and a well-defined onboarding process.
